XFCE4 4.14.1 display settings segfault

Distro: Arch Linux
XFCE version: 4.14.1

When trying to open display settings through the settings menu, it keeps loading and opens nothing.

When opening xfce4-display-settings via the terminal, it mentions a segfault and closes.

Anyone have any ideas?

See this bug report. Proposed patch included that needs testing.

Re: XFCE4 4.14.1 display settings segfault

Same here,

moreover, I'm having trouble with my 240Hz monitor as well.
It flickers on it's own on desktop (when I launch a fullscreen application flickering goes away).
It's refreshrate jumps around based on what I do.
If I have a youtube playing in chromium window it's ~60Hz. When I try dragging a window around it caps at 120Hz.
I'm running GTX1070 and 3 monitors setup (2x 60Hz, 1x 240Hz). On previous version of xfce it worked perfectly, pretty sure latest update broke something. From time to time xfce4-display-settings manages to launch, but if I try to change pretty much any option it segfaults.

Can provide any necessary info/config/logs if anyone thinks they can help.

@BonusPlay, look at the bug report referenced above. It includes a patch. If you are able to test, that would be helpful. The answer lies with that bug report.

@ToZ i just built with the patch and it did fix xfce4-display-settings segfault, but it did not fix the refresh rate problem.

Can you see if running any of the following helps with the refresh issue?

xfwm4 --vblank=off --replace
xfwm4 --vblank=xpresent --replace
xfwm4 --vblank=glx --replace

You can make it permanent via:

xfconf-query -c xfwm4 -p /general/vblank_mode -t string -s "off" --create
