XFCE4 Desktop not showing Drag/drop

Core I7 2670QM Quad core CPU with a Nvidia Gforce 640M GPU, with 16GB of RAM, and 512GB SSD drive
Zorin 12.4 Core (Gnome build) with  XFCE 4.12 desktop installed.

In XFCE Desktop,
Items on the desktop vanish during drag and drop placement. Sometimes the icon will appear after drop.

Icons on the desktop also vanish. If click Organize Desktop, the files appear. All items appear normally and properly in Nautilus file manager.
Any ideas?

"Organize desktop" isn't an xfdesktop option. Is something else managing your desktop? Maybe nautilus?

As a test, make sure nautilus isn't running (check your processes). Make sure xfdesktop is running. Try drag and dropping the icons again. Another way to test this is to create a new user, log in with Xfce and do the test.

Glad to see you are on the case, Toz:D
I am actually asking on behalf of someone else, so My own replies may be skewed.
I had suggested
xfdesktop --replace
already and they said that had no effect.

Re: XFCE4 Desktop not showing Drag/drop

Unfortunately, "--replace" is not a valid option for xfdesktop. Try instead:

xfdesktop -Q && xfdesktop -e

...post back the debug output.

Have them create another user, log in and test before running nautilus.

Re: XFCE4 Desktop not showing Drag/drop

Everything looks good there. Have her create another user and try with that user.
