Well, you need to figure out/remember/tell us which files you modified exactly and what lines you entered.

I suspect the last line is what's causing the problem. Try deleting it.

options snd-hda-intel model=Intel

OK thanks for all the help. I decided to reinstall and since I was doing that I am upgrading to 22.04 and then that is done also. So lots of agony but in the end a cleaner setup and also sound works!
