You are not logged in.
Don't deactivate with sudo, it needs to be run with your login account. Try uninstalling it (you can always re-install it later again). That will make sure on reboot its not active.

I removed xfce4-screensaver but no success with login
I am not a specialist but I am guessing the issue is a user right problem, but I found no discrepancies
1. user claus could login the whole time since I install archlinux and xfce4, and now (after pacman update???) it is not possible
2. user claus has no problem to login remote via ssh tigervnc
3. user alarm can login without any problems
4. what is the reason that user claus can login after kill xfce4-session process ?
sorry for being so pushy. Of course I can delete the user and create again. But I can not find the error on this way.

I must have missed this. What exactly do you mean by this?

Hi ToZ, the procedure is very simple:
- user can not login via login screen
- I switch from login screen to terminal (ctrl alt F2)
- with ps -ef | grep xfce I see the xfce4-session process with pid
- I kill pid (e.g. 598) -> kill 598
- go back in the login scree (ctrl alt F7)
- and the user can login via login window with username and password
This is what i mean - why can I login after kill xfce4-session?

Unfortunately, there is nothing that I can see in the log files to explain why. And the fact that it is only happening to one user account, would mean that the account profile itself is somehow affected.
You can try clearing out the session cache - delete the contents of /home/claus/.cache/sessions while xfce4-session is not running (from the second console) to see if a corrupted entry is maybe the cause (though it wouldn't explain why a second attempt works). Otherwise, you may just need to re-create the user account.

what you have suggested I have already done a few days ago. Now I think the best solutiln is to recreate the user (bad - because with this user I had installed many programs.) Anyway thank you for your effort and patience.
Cheers Claus
