Gtk theme im working on using the murrine engine.
Almost finished but not quite... opinions might help me get there quicker :razz:

I like to have a gap between the edge of the menu and the edge of the
selected menu-item, and more space between menu items.

style "menu-item" = "button"
{
  xthickness = 0

}

style "menu" = "menu-item"

  ythickness = 1
}

widget_class "GtkMenu"      style "menu"
class "GtkMenu"             style "menu"

widget_class "*MenuItem.*"  style "menu-item"

if you're using "gtk-menu-images = 0" bump menu-item ythickness to 3

It's a nice theme, I like it.

have you set those Tango icons manually, or is there a patch somewhere?
cus for me tango sets like a couple of the icons in the menu and some at the xfce settings manager...

Both are the default in xfce4-panel, just a small patch to remove the handles.
