My current Deskktop:

Conky is "Gold and Grey Conky" (Modified colors and placement)
Bottom panel is supplimented with custom Cairo-Dock for alternate Application menu (the Ubuntu Studio symbol) and a stack folder and email notifier.
Added a system settings menu beside my actions menu (beside my name)

On a side note: I really wish that Linux Mint would rework (officially) that horrendous logo. Some good folks have worked hard on doing some very nice pieces. *my two cents*

That's my attempt to make Xubuntu 14.04 look like Windows.

I used:
– DockbarX
– Conky Reloj
– VLC - MetroX Blue
– Windows 8 Xfwm Theme
– Weather script by ToZ

Why do you all have such long monitors?

Laptops and most new monitors are "widescreen," using a 16:9 ratio instead of 4:3. Since laptops are small, widescreen is really shortscreen, I keep running out of vertical space.     I miss 4:3. 

Annnnnnnnyway, keeping on topic, here is another screenshot of my desktop.  This one shows a xfwm theme that I am working on, along with the "Xfce-dawn" gtk style that comes with xfce. Been working on getting the xfwm to pass through the colors from the gtk
