I've recently decided to refresh a bit my Xfce 4.12 desktop. I've ditched Whisker Menu for Xfce Appfinder which turns out very comfortable as an application launcher.
I've also added some unity and mac os flavour by moving panel to the top and using apps like plank, topmenu (working with 90% of qt4, gtk2 and gtk3 apps) and xfce4-windowck-plugin. My desktop also makes use of compiz 0.9.12 and emerald as a window manager. It also uses Mint-Numix-Blue theme and Vibrancy icons.

GTK Theme: Modified Numix

Also using appfinder as an app launcher. That plus the genmon plugin are 2 hidden gems.

The icon theme is Numix Circle, the Wallpaper is Caledonia from the Caledonia project of Malcer. The Gtk theme is Numix Frost Light but with the main color changed to the original Numix one, the window manager is xfwm4.

I recently switched from Linux Mint 17.1 Xfce to Xubuntu 15.04, mainly because of Xfce 4.12. I discovered that my Mint got too unstable when I added the Xfce and Xubuntu repositories and updated my system in order to obtain 4.12. A fresh Xubuntu installation seems much more stable to me.
When it comes to desktop applications, my system is rather Ubuntu than Xubuntu.

Mine is yes, window buttons in the center with Whisker Menu on the left (the star icon) and Show Desktop on the right. I'll have to take a look at the Taskbar plugin though, it looks interesting.
At the bottom is three separated panels or only one?

Here is the link to my Manjaro Xfce desktop screenshot (I can't seem to embed the image). I did borrow some icons from the OS X Yosemite look and the dock at the bottom is actually a combination of three different docks that are tightly packed together. I'm betting that it would be more complete if I had a good config for conky. Screenshot

Cocky?
How are you doing that thing with the plugins over the clock?
Offline
Sorry for the typo, I meant to type "conky". My computer just gave me a bad spelling suggestion. I am able to place my plugins over the clock because they are in different panels. I just placed the panels really close together and made them both the same color to make the seam between the panels look less noticeable.

Click on the small bandwidth-saving thumbnail to see the full-sized screenshot:
In this screen one can see that I've learned how to replace the XFCE startbar icon with a custom picture. Still running the Jessie version of Debian Linux, with a Bedrock Linux system (using Slackare and Debian as "clients") in the VirtualBox window. XFCE used Both in and outside of the VM.
