[Solved] disable alt+mouse "move window"?

I need to use ALT+drag inside an application (Inkscape's 'Node Sculpting' function). But according to the 'Xfce 4 Window Manager' manual, XFCE has reserved this combination for moving windows around. It seems that  'Window Manager Preferences' only manages "pure" keyboard shortcuts, so there isn't any "ALT+CLICK" to disable.
Is this hardwired, or is there a way this can be disabled?
Any ideas?

it causes problems in The GIMP too - some of the tools use alt to modify their behaviour like you describe. I'd imagine quite a lot of other apps are affected as well so there really should be some way to configure it...

Re: [Solved] disable alt+mouse "move window"?

I finally found the solution in this faq: http://www.xfce.org/index.php?page=docu … ang=en#faq.

Just edit your $HOME/.xfce4/xfwm4rc (or create an new one) and add this line:

easy_click=false

Then simply kill -HUP [pid of xfwm4]

I'm not actually working on my linux box, so i can't try it out, but i don't see a reason why it shouldn't.

But i still think it would be nice if was possible to do some fine-tuning instead of this complete de-activation of the feature.

In 4.4 you can change the key used in the wmtweaks settings dialog.

Excellent! I hope 4.4 makes it into Xubuntu Feisty Fawn in time.

Re: [Solved] disable alt+mouse "move window"?

following worked for me
type xfce4-settings-manager in terminal
and then click 'settings editor'
then to the left click xfwm4 channel then in the right pane change the value of easy_click  from <alt> to nothing

Now alt+mouse right click wont move your window........................
its a very crap setting..............
