drag&drop behavior

Hi.  I'm new to these forums but a long-time XFCE user.  The one thing that has always bugged me since starting to use xfdesktop is the drag&drop behavior.
Why is the default to copy the file/dir ?

Is there any way to change the default behaviour to mv instead of cp?  Ideally being able to right-click drag and then be presented with a choice upon releasing the mouse button would be nice.

strange, I notice after I've upgraded to xfce 4.4.1 (and Thunar 0dot8) that now the default is to mv when you drag files within Thunar but not to or from folders on the desktop.
meh. good enough. 
seems no one here has experienced this anyway.
