XFCE Applications Menu Editor - Version 0.4 with GUI

My lazy side-project xfce-appmenu now has finally become a seriously usable tool. it even has a .deb package for easy installation.

Project website: http://my.opera.com/Texel/blog/2008/02/ … editor-0-4

Any feedback is most welcome:)

Re: XFCE Applications Menu Editor - Version 0.4 with GUI

How about adding new menu items.  None of my wine added applications get automatically added to the menu, so I try adding .desktop entries, but it's clumsy.

Concerning categories: it would be nice if I could choose these via checkbox. Beginners often don't know the categories. Something like the 3rd picture on http://thunar.xfce.org/pwiki/documentat … om_actions where you can choose []directories, ...

Re: XFCE Applications Menu Editor - Version 0.4 with GUI

i tried that but xfce's category handling is quite buried under a complicated xml structure and i didnt want to spend all the requried time.. may be i'll add that later.
may be any xfcee developer could help on this?

I've posted your editor in our forum. Bug-report: "cannot write to file" while changing entries as normal user and root.
