Preferred Applications

Hi Xfce community,

I'm having an issue with preferred applications, specifically, 'mailto:' links opening Thunderbird and URL links opening Firefox. When I first installed Xfce to try it out, this worked fine. I also had Gnome installed. I've since purged all Gnome packages but since then the preferred applications doesn't seem to work anymore. What gives?

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Preferred Applications

IIRC this is done by the Exo package. Also make user you have the required perl modules installed.

Thanks for the reply.

Indeed I have libexo-0.3-0 installed, as dpkg reports. I assume since I have exo installed I also have the require Perl modules?

Re: Preferred Applications

Yeah you should have, if the distro added it as dependencies...

Re: Preferred Applications

Yeah, this is an old post, but it's relates to a similar problem I'm having.

I'm using Debian Squeeze x86.  No matter what I have my "preferred applications" to for opening a URL in Evolution, Epiphany opens the site, not IceWeasel.  Where else do or can I change the setting?
