[solved] dark kde colour schemes

since my update from xubuntu 10.04 to 10.10 ive noticed a change in the way dark kde4 colour schemes [inverted colour schemes] behave/appear in xfce4...

history:
i installed the xubuntu-desktop on top of my kubuntu install as i like using the xfce gui...
i use the wonton soup colour scheme from kde4, that used to work fine in xfce4 until the upgrade to 10.10...

now when im using kde applications in xfce there seem to be some elements in the application gui that are not accessed or controlled by the colour scheme any more and hence remain white [or light grey]...
i understand this may be because of a lack of communication between kde and xfce gui teams but they used to be fine before the upgrade...

if i use the xfce settings manager to change the scheme to albatros the kde application the gets the colour scheme from it... but when you load the application again it reverts back to the colour scheme from kde...

does anybody know anything about this?
is this going to be looked at for future release?
is there anything that can be done to work around this?
is there somewhere i could look at to rectify this myself?

i love using xfce and dark colour schemes...

any help would be greatly appreciated...

thanks

Have a look at qtconfig, you can use it to apply the GTK+ style to the Qt/KDE applications. Don't forget to save the changes.

Re: [solved] dark kde colour schemes

FYI, Qt 4.7 now has a check for Xfce (as it already does for GNOME). If it detects the current session is running Xfce it will automatically apply the GTK+ theme.

This means you don't have to manually turn the style setting to GTK+, but keep it to Desktop Settings.

Re: [solved] dark kde colour schemes

it seems as of Debian 11 (perhaps earlier) the qtconfig package is now named qt5ct.
