Thunar, massive lag

Thunar has massive performance issues browsing any dir with many images. I am using the latest xfce 4.8 on: 2hz core 2 duo, 4gb ram, ati hd2600.

Somehow caused by gvfs. Thunar is waiting for drives or network shares, is under investigation.
