Logout Delay 4.8.1

I use kdm to log into XFCE 4.8.1. If I run a KDE application such as Kmail then try to log out of XFCE 4.8.1 I get a long delay. I get unable to connect to session and session must be idle. I can't seem to find anything on google about a possible fix or work around. I've tried setting kde services to start at login etc but so far nothing seems to fix it.
