Unable To Login Normally

G'Day,

Having problems logging in to xubuntu.  The following pop-up appears:  "No Tunning instance of xfce4-panel was found.", alos on this opo-up it tells how to save for future logins. So far I have managed to login by firstly clicking on Excute in the pop-up and some tomes I have to entye xfwm4 in terminal.  Not a good way to login!  After the first instance of receiving the pop-up I reinstall all that had to do with xfce via Synaptic Package Manager.

System running:
Ubuntu 10.10 LTS with all current updates
Xubuntu 11.04 (Natty) with all current updates.
xfce 4.8-3

Require help in correcting the above problems.
