No Frames in Xubuntu

I had to reboot my machine and when I did so, none of my windows had frames; no maximize, no minimize, to system menu, to title, no re-size.  I tried logging-out and in, and rebooting but it's persistence.  Anyone have any idea why and what I can do?

PS: I'm writing this from a Ubuntu/GNOME session but I want XFCE back.  Please help.

Re: No Frames in Xubuntu

xfwm4 is not restored by the session manager. You can either start xfwm4 with Alt+f2 or clear the session cache (rm -r ~/.cache/sessions).

Can you tell us the cause of this condition (so that we can avoid it in the future)?

Re: No Frames in Xubuntu

I had this trouble for 2 days, I eventually found a easy solution, with compiz fusion icon, I changed the windows manager, and put it back and it make it come back smile
