unconditional maximize

Hi,

I found that I can assign "Maximize window" to a key in XFCE (Settings/Window manager/Keyboard), but instead of maximizing unconditionally, it _toggles_ maximization.  This interferes with tiling functionality, eg if I have a maximized window, then press the key assigned to "Tile window to the left", then want to maximize the window again, I need to "maximize" twice because the first one just untoggles maximization.

Is there a way to make XFCE4 maximize windows no matter what their previous state is?

I am using Debian, xfce4.10.

Best,

Tamas
