Re: How to place items on the panel?

You need to use expanding separators to move/set item positioning on a panel. Add a separator item, move it to the position you would like, and set it to expanding in its preferences. All this can be done in the panel preferences dialog box (right-click the panel, select Panel->Panel Preferences).

As an example, I have the xfce menu on the left side, the clock on the right side, and the notification area indicator plugins in the middle. My Item tab (of Panel->Panel Preferences) looks like this:
- Applications menu
- Separator (expanding)
- Notification Area
- Indicator Plugin
- Separator (expanding)
- Clock

Edited post title, no need to be rude: being explicit is far more efficient.

Re: How to place items on the panel?

I had just upgraded to 4.10 and had that same issue.  Works perfectly.   Great information.  Thanks, even though I am not the original poster.
