[Solved] Can't create new keyboard shortcuts

I'm trying to create keyboard shortcuts for some of my most used apps like my web browser and etc.

I go to Applications->Settings->Keyboard and click on the Application Shortcuts tab.

When I click add, it brings up a dialog box. I input the command, and then another dialog box asks me to input the shortcut
I would like to use. As soon as I press the combination I would like to use that dialog box automatically closes, leaving me
with just the original dialog box showing me the command and now set keyboard shortcut.

When I close that dialog box, nothing happens. There's no new entry in the list. I try the shortcut anyways to see if maybe it
will work but nothing.

Anybody got any ideas?

Re: [Solved] Can't create new keyboard shortcuts

I don’t understand what window you’re talking about.
1) the keyboard settings window (with the list of actions)
2) the popup window where you enter the command to be launched
3) the popup window where you have to press the desired key combination

Here when I press the key combo, (3) closes and I have only (1) open, and the new action is in the list.

What key combination are you trying to set?

Re: [Solved] Can't create new keyboard shortcuts

Nevermind. I got new shortcuts to work. It turns out that I can't do anything with the Alt key by itself. But it's odd because I can use the alt key for all my window operations. Oh well. I'll just use different keys then. Thank you.
