xfce4-mixer -- setting up default sound card

Good evening to everybody,

I am using xcfe4.8 with Debian Wheezy together together with ALSA.

I set up my default sound card by creating the file /etc/asound.conf

pcm.!default {
	type hw
	card 1
}

ctl.!default {
	type hw
	card 1
}

I have two sound cards, 0 and 1, I put the 1 as default.

I want to use xfce4-mixer on my panel to manage volume controls for my default sund card (1), the problem is that after restarting the system I always loose my the default sound card (1) previously selected with xfce4-mixer applet (right click on the xfce4-mixer applet, properties, first combobox sound card - > sound card (1)), and I have to select again in order to get the sound system.

My question is, how I can memorise my default sound card (1) in the xfce4-mixer applet?

Thank you for your attention.

Hi amosse,

I was wondering if you ever got a solution to this as I am having a similar problem myself.

Thanks

Put that content into a file called

.asoundrc

and place it in your home folder.  Works for me.

MX-23 (based on Debian Stable) with our flagship Xfce 4.18.
