[SOLVED] Mazimized windows are hidden by the panel

As in the title, when I maximize a windows, it is 'overlapped' by the panel.. The bottom border of the window goes *under* the panel (http://s23.postimg.org/8kawr1vxl/Workspace_1_004.png), and this causes a part of the window (sometimes critical) to be hidden. Is this a bug or have I to check my settings? I have the latest stable version of xfce and I am running Gentoo, if this can be useful. Thanks for the help!

In panel preferences, make sure that "Don't reserve space on borders" is unchecked.
