screens not found

When I try to start xfce using sudo startxfce4, I get the no screens found error. I have tried taking crouton off my chromebook and re installed it. It worked one time, but when I restarted my chromebook, it gave me the error again. The error started happening after I updated chrome os.

Re: screens not found

You don't want to use sudo for this, because that would have you running X *as root,* which is a Very Bad Idea.  (The error message you're getting is caused by the fact that you're not actually root.)  Just use startxfce4 by itself, and all should be well.

Re: screens not found

As I wrote above, just use startxfce4 to start X with Xfce.

Re: screens not found

Actually, I think Crouton on the Chromebook works differently. You should probably post over on the Crouton issues forum. From what I understand, you need to enter a chroot before running "sudo startxfce4", but I'm not 100% sure since I've never used Crouton.

A quick search just found this link which suggests either:

sudo startxfce4

...or

sudo enter-chroot startxfce4

Again, probably better to start a thread in their forums for this specific implementation,
