Setting up color profile

Hello XFCE admirers!

I have recently switched to XFCE from standard Unity environment. My hobby is photography and photo editing. This requires specific display colour profile to be set for viewing true colours of an image. While this was not a issue with Unity, in XFCE I'm not able to manipulate colour profiles at all. Colord and profile installer from Gnome do not work properly with XFCE. Also I tried xcalib for setting default profile, but it does not work either (indeed, I tried putting Xcalib comand into startup).
It seems that sRGB is XFCE inbuilt profile used by default.
Googled all through and have not found a successful solution.
Any suggestions/workarounds how to set up custom display colour profile as default?
Your help is greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Alex

Re: Setting up color profile

Guys, I desperately need your help, because XFCE is great and I don't want to switch to a different environment, but my photo processing is stalled. Any ideas, please smile

Re: Setting up color profile

I know nothing about this, but I see many interesting hits using a web search on "xfce manipulate color profile." Is it really true that none of those suggestions works?

One of them for instance is to the reliable Arch Wiki, which has details on the topic here.

Re: Setting up color profile

I used a web search and checked that Arch Wiki page as well. Nope, the xcalib solution, mentioned there and in other resources, does not work. Anyway, thank you for your support.

Uhhh, it would be nice to hear someone creating xfce

Sure, but the devs do not come very often. You could try joining the listserv and posting the question there, or using the IRC channel.
