Placing icon in TREE VIEW side panel of Thunar.

In Thunar I use the side panel in TREE VIEW.   I deleted the Desktop file from my file system.  I've put it back in, but I can't figure out how to make it appear in the TREE VIEW side panel.  In the SHORTCUTS side panel, no problem.

TIA for any and all suggestions.

Re: Placing icon in TREE VIEW side panel of Thunar.

open mousepad, then copy and past this (without the ""):
"
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Icon=user-desktop
Type=Directory

"
then safe the file as .directory in /home/your-user-name/Desktop
--
open in mousepad /home/your-user-name/.config/user-dirs.dirs
and add
"
XDG_DESKTOP_DIR="$HOME/Desktop"
"
if it's not there, safe and close
logout and login

Re: Placing icon in TREE VIEW side panel of Thunar.

That did it!!!!  Thanks very much.

Had to download mousepad first.

I don't remember seeing the .directory file on the desktop, even with hidden files included.  I does it need to stay there?  Not a big deal either way, but if it's no longer needed, I'll delete it.

Thanks again for the help, and so quickly too.
