not installied desktop 8(

Ubuntu 14.04
Apply:
sudo aptitude install xfce4
sudo aptitude install xfce4-goodies
500 megabytes of programs are installed.
Reboot.

And nothing. I see a tighter console. And where is the desktop?

sudo aptitude install xubuntu-desktop - of course, it's installing .. And loaded desktop, as expected.
But I do not need 1.5 gigabytes of garbage

Hello and welcome.

I've deleted your other duplicate post - there's no need to create two of them.

I believe ubuntu 14.04 uses lightdm as the display manager (login screen). It should have an option to select which session to log in with. Make sure you select Xfce before logging in.

Re: not installied desktop 8(

Found a partial solution
It is necessary in the terminal
startxfce4

Run as I wanted.
But after rebooting, again the terminal console.

Where to write, to automatically start xfce??
