web browsers not honoring Preferred Applications, File-Manager

Debian 10, XFCE:
Using Chromium or Firefox:  download a file and click 'show in folder':  Folder is opened in Thunar.
But I have used Preferred Applications to set my default File-Manager to PCManFM.
Both:
xdg-open ~/folder/
and
exo-open --launch FileManager ~/folder/
  properly open PCManFM.

I've looked at:
~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list  and  ~/.config/mimeapps.list

Confirmed xdg-mime query default inode/directory
ouputs:  pcmanfm.desktop

~/.local/share/applications/pcmanfm.desktop  contains:
[Desktop Entry]
Name=File Manager PCManFM
Type=Application
Icon=system-file-manager
Terminal=false
Exec=pcmanfm %U
Categories=System;FileTools;FileManager;Utility;Core;GTK;
StartupNotify=true
MimeType=inode/directory

Anybody have a clue how to get Chromium to respect the default app I have set for inode/directory ?

Re: web browsers not honoring Preferred Applications, File-Manager

I've found a project that aims at fixing that, in a thread in the mailing list.

Thread: https://mail.xfce.org/pipermail/xfce4-d … 32483.html

Project: https://github.com/drauger-os-developme … op-service

Perhaps it's of some help, good luck!
