Send to Side Pane is grayed out

Hello forum,

I have been using xfce4 for a short while. I am using fedora 32 and for some reason I cannot create bookmarks on the side pane of Thunar, I do not know when this started, I just wanted to add one today and saw that the right click option / send to (side pane) button is grayed out.

any ideas why this would be happening?

thank you

Re: Send to Side Pane is grayed out

Permissions?

Are you running thunar as root?

ps -ef | grep -i thunar

What are the permissions on ~/.config/gtk-3.0/bookmarks?

ls -l ~/.config/gtk-3.0/bookmarks

Also, what version of thunar is included with fedora 32?

thunar -V

BTW, welcome to the forums.

Re: Send to Side Pane is grayed out

Kill all of the thunar processes then run thunar as a regular user (not root) and see if it works then.

Re: Send to Side Pane is grayed out

I dont know why is it running like root. I stopped thunar with the task manager and now it works, but how do I prevent thunar from running as root? when I reboot I have the same problem again

Re: Send to Side Pane is grayed out

Clear your saved sessions cache.
While not logged in (restart your computer and before logging in press Ctrl+Alt+F2) and delete the contents of ~/.cache/sessions.
