Spell check in mousepad

Hi,

Is there a plug-in or some other option to enable spell-checking in mousepad?.

Thanks

Re: Spell check in mousepad

Yes, since Mousepad 0.5.5, released just a few hours ago: https://gitlab.xfce.org/apps/mousepad/- … epad-0.5.5

Re: Spell check in mousepad

Thanks.

I compiled the source (autogen->make->make install), no error messages. Now mousepad doesn't start &  shows:
"mousepad: error while loading shared libraries: libmousepad.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Re: Spell check in mousepad

OK...it's started but on the console gives the error:
mousepad:47916): Mousepad-WARNING **: 13:36:17.725: Failed to open plugin directory '/usr/local/lib/mousepad/plugins': Error opening directory “/usr/local/lib/mousepad/plugins”: No such file or directory

Re: Spell check in mousepad

Mousepad was probably built without gspell support: install gspell, then redo autogen->make->make install

Re: Spell check in mousepad

Tnx

Which of these are needed:
gir1.2-gspell-1 - spell-checking library for GTK+ applications - GObject introspection
gspell-1-tests - spell-checking library for GTK+ applications - installed tests
libgspell-1-2 - spell-checking library for GTK+ applications
libgspell-1-common - libgspell architecture-independent files
libgspell-1-dev - spell-checking library for GTK+ applications - development files
libgspell-1-doc - spell-checking library for GTK+ applications - documentation

Re: Spell check in mousepad

I would say libgspell-1-dev and libgspell-1-2

Re: Spell check in mousepad

OK thanks, it's compiled with gspell now.

So the spell checking underlines unidentified words? there's no option to get suggestions like in gedit/leadpad?.

Cheers

Re: Spell check in mousepad

To enable spell checking, you have to go in Preferences->Plugins.
Then suggestions will be available in the context menu (for underlined words).
