Can't change desktop wallpaper - Fedora 34

I can bring up desktop settings, but I can't change wallpaper. I click on the "Folder" button and browse to the directory with the wallpaper I want to use; however, the wallpaper file names are grayed out and not selectable. Using Thunar I can browse the directory and open the files. Permissions are 544. xfdesktop is running with no errors.

I have the same issue on two other computers.

Any suggestions?

Select the folder containing the wallpaper to populate the dialog with those wallpapers, then click on the one you want. See: https://docs.xfce.org/xfce/xfdesktop/preferences.
