How to Disable Mail notification sound

(Out of the blue) Started receiving Meow)) sounds when new mail arrives.
Thought it is coming from Evolution. I had to delete and re-create Mail account.
Dug up through settings. Disabled Mail notification plugin. Did not help.

Turned out sound plays even when there are NO Evolution processes.
Happens when new mail arrives through Outlook365 Web.
Disabled Outlook Web sounds. Did not help.

Looks like someone sends "New mail" events at XFCE level.
Sound is coming from different speakers depending on Mouse focus.
Sound is NOT played in headphones with Playback->System Sounds enabled (through PulseAudio)

Cannot figure out where to disable stupid thing all together. Never used them. Never liked them

Any advise is very much appreciated.
Best regards)

Re: How to Disable Mail notification sound

Is this the source audio file? /usr/share/sounds/sound-icons/gummy-cat-2.wav

If it is, maybe rename it or move it to Trash.

Re: How to Disable Mail notification sound

Well, “out of the blue” means that it was after an update or installation of a new package.

If you do not want to be hearing event sounds at all, you can turn them off in AppearanceSettingsEvent sounds.
