Xfce4-Panel High Disk Write

Hello,
I observed that xfce4-panel disk write is very high. Is that normal?
Disk write total: 36.5GB
Disk read total: 3.3GB

Re: Xfce4-Panel High Disk Write

That seems excessive - it should be nowhere near that (if that data is accurate). I believe the only things that the panel would write out would be settings changes (minimal) or error/warning messages.

Which distro and which version of Xfce are you running?
Does your distro have an ~/.xsession-errors file and if so, what is the size of the file?

Edit: do you get the same results from:

cat /proc/$(pidof xfce4-panel)/io

Re: Xfce4-Panel High Disk Write

What is the uptime of this system? Any chance you could upload the contents of ~/.xsession-errors somewhere and post the link back?

Re: Xfce4-Panel High Disk Write

I just restarted my system, but for that error I think my uptime was like 4 or 5 days.
