Xfce and Compiz

I've had Xfce and Compiz working together on my laptop for years.  Alas,  that laptop  died and I've bought a new one and installed Fedora 35 on it  with Xfce 4.16.  One of the first things I did  was install  Compiz and try to use it.  I couldn't  configure  it because the settings program for it  didn't show up and it  messed up my desktop so badly that I ended up re-installing everything.  Does anybody know  how to  get the two  to  play nice together or if they still do?
