very first executable after login

i would like to run my own script for any userid after they log in before any Xfce or other desktop environment processes start up.  this script may edit or replace files that those processes expect to read.  the intent is that these changes will be the new files for this user.  for various reasons, i cannot make these changes until the user logs in and their home directory is available.  maybe this is a lightdm issue.  but i know some people run Xfce without lightdm, so there is more to it than that.

Re: very first executable after login

It looks like lightdm.conf has a setting that can be used for this:

# session-setup-script = Script to run when starting a user session (runs as root)
