[Solved] Shortcut to navigate in the window menu

Hi everyone,

I would like to access the window menu trough the keyboard

window menu in red rectangle

I noticed that if I press ALT + SHIFT I got ~underscore under letter

File become File but when I press F it does not select/expand File but enter F in the search field... any ideas ?

Pressing F10 opens that menu for me.

I don't know about that but it's common on GTK-based apps and interfaces.

Yes, F10 unfolds the menu on the first item (File in this case), and then you navigate with the arrow keys and press Enter on your desired action.

But! You can unfold any item just pressing alt+underscored letter, so alt+f would open the File menu, alt+e for the Edit menu, etc.

And then you can press the underscored letter in the menu items to execute that action directly.

So, alt+f would open the File menu, then p would open the Properties window.

If there's more than one item with the same underscored letter, it will cycle through them, and execute by pressing Enter.

I like it better 'cause I have a tendency to miss F10 and end up either fullscreen or with my drop-down terminal lol

Indeed I prefer also the ALT way. I did tried before but I guess my system (theme) has a bug and couldn't handle it. I have tried on a fresh install and it's work perfectly.
