Can't Access Clock Settings

I just installed the latest 64-bit OS on Raspberry Pi and then added Xfce as my GUI.  Almost everything is working well.

However, the clock will not change to NTP time and I cannot access the root features of the clock in the panel.  I used to be able to click on the clock and get a way to log in as root to make changes on another computer, but not on this one.

I could use a little help.

Re: Can't Access Clock Settings

I think you are looking for "time-admin". It should be in a gnome-system-tools package. If installed, the clock plugin will show a button to run that program.

Re: Can't Access Clock Settings

Doesn't it come with Xfce 4.16?

Re: Can't Access Clock Settings

No. It's sometimes packaged by distros to provide that functionality. Its an old gnome tool.

Re: Can't Access Clock Settings

How were users supposed to set the clock otherwise, and make other changes?

Re: Can't Access Clock Settings

Via the tools that the distro provides.  Tools like time-admin (or other command line tools). AFAIK, Xfce has never had its own time tool.

Re: Can't Access Clock Settings

Okay, I installed that package and the option was there to login and change the settings.  Then the time synced with NTP.  As always, thank you for that.

Oh, I see that this is the new 64-bit Raspbian and there are other bugs too.  Thanks again.
