Terminal font baseline changed

The font "height" or baseline has been abruptly changed, so much so that slashes now stick up a pixel or so above the background color. The first time I noticed it was when dragging a terminal to the side of my screen to do a half-screen window. Previous terminals opened in the same session had the normal height, and this just changed abruptly. Since then I've restarted and updated everything, and it still persists.
Some Unicode characters don't seem to be affected, mostly cursor-sized ones it seems. Only some fonts are affected, and only in the terminal.

Remember to edit the subject of your topic to include the [SOLVED] tag once you're satisfied with the answers or have found a solution (in which case, don't forget to share it as well), so that other members of the community can quickly refer to it and save their time. Pretty please! tongue

Re: Terminal font baseline changed

it's not the height of the text cells themselves, but the position  of the text within them
