[SOLVED] map Ctrl-[ to Escape

I've tried adding <Primary>bracketleft with no success:

~ $ xfconf-query -c xfce4-keyboard-shortcuts -l -v | grep cancel_key
/xfwm4/custom/<Primary>bracketleft            cancel_key
/xfwm4/default/Escape                         cancel_key

What am I missing?

It's only used to cancel the move, resize and cycle operations. Escape will still be used regardless.

Edit: I failed to mention that it works for me. After changing it to Ctrl-[, I can now close the alt-tab switcher with that key as well as with the default Escape.

How can I make Ctrl-[ behave like Escape globally e.g. closing the Firefox "Open File",  or the "Application Finder", or the "Clipman History" dialog windows? I'm looking to achieve what XCAPE does but using XFCE native facilities.

I don't think you can do that within Xfce (it's not responsible for that). You probably need to mess with Xkb here.
