thunar has had a segfault. am i required to file an issue report?

sov-x550cc:[sov-thade-tage]:~$ strike #it is my bash alias for 'sudo thunar'
[sudo] password for sov-thade-tage:

(thunar:29925): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 15:41:18.584: ../glib/gobject/gsignal.c:2731: instance '0x55c4028a91f0' has no handler with id '1366'
Segmentation fault
sov-x550cc:[sov-thade-tage]:~$

i have invoked thunar [remembering my previously opened tabs] in root mode from terminal emulator and when i have finished working with /etc folder i have clicked back button in thunar to return to my originally opened tab but thunar has crashed.
should i post an issue report somewhere else or this forum is right place for such things?

Which version of thunar are you running?

#it is my bash alias for 'sudo thunar'

Using 'sudo thunar' is not recommeded. Does using either of the following methods work without generating the error?

  • pkexec thunar
  • Using "admin://" in the URL bar to enter admin mode

i am using thunar 4.18.6;
i could not reproduce error using thunar in both my machines [they are installed with Artix openRC]
...so i have not tried either suggestions from your list.

but here is my output from terminal [using 'sudo thunar' again] --i tried to reproduce that setting* has lead to the segfault
--messages are seemingly the same ["instance '0x55ec7aa54d20' has no handler with id '1368'", and another machine does not issue any error messages]
...and NO SEGFAULT of thunar on any of my machines today!

*i have deleted rc.conf and renamed rc.conf.pacnew to rc.conf that day when segfault has occurred --probably it was some elusive bug
...cannot trigger it again
