xfce4-pulseaudio-plugin no icon at all

Hello,

I am new to xfce forums and I have a problem for which Dr Google could not provide a satisfactory solution.

for the volume manager in my panel I do not have any icon at all, it shows a little triangle with an exclamation mark instead. The volume setting works as wished as well as the "tooltip" but only the icon is wrong

I do not know where to search to, can you please help ?
