Installing thunar-volman

Hi,

I'm having a few problems trying to work out how to install thunar-volman on my xubuntu system. I've just installed up to xfce4-4.4RC1 and Thunar 0.8.1svn-r25675.

Now I'm trying to get the automaount to work on Thunar and it's telling me I need thunar-volman so I'm following the instructions on http://foo-projects.org/~benny/projects … index.html.

So far I've done:

svn co http://svn.xfce.org/svn/goodies/thunar-volman/trunk thunar-volman
cd thunar-volman
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH="/usr/lib/pkgconfig:/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig"
./autogen.sh --prefix="/usr/local"

and it's givig me an error:

*** The required package thunar-vfs-1 was found on your system,
*** but the installed version (0.4.1svn-r23151) is too old.
*** Please upgrade thunar-vfs-1 to atleast version 0.5.1, or adjust
*** the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you installed
*** the new version of the package in a nonstandard prefix so
*** pkg-config is able to find it.

and I'm afraid I'm not sure what it's looking for.

Any ideas?

PS as you may have gessed I'm not verry experianced with wworking without packages so I may have made a mistake somewhere that's causing the proplem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Installing thunar-volman

Hi,

I seem to have fixed my problem wihtout compilling thunar-volman. I downloaded the latest graphical xfce installer from your website http://www.xfce.org/download/ and ran that. It seems to have fixed everything on its own.

Now while I'm at it I'd just like to say well done. 4.4.1 seems to have fixed the small number of grypes I had about xfce and made a bunch of new improovements to boot. It realy looks like the best system out there. Cheers for your hard work.
