Any chance to change the size to 22x22, 24x24 or 32x32?

i tried this over gtkrc but it has no effect?

The only way I found - adjust panel size in panel customization menu.

For Xfce 4.4.x, it should work with this line in ~/.gtkrc-2.0 or directly in the gtkrc file of your theme:

gtk-icon-sizes = "gtk-menu=24,24"

You need to restart Xfce.

For Xfce 4.6, it no longer seems to work. You must use xfconf-query in a terminal:

xfconf-query -c xsettings -p '/Gtk/IconSizes' -s 'gtk-menu=24,24'

Or, always for Xfce 4.6, graphically with the Settings Editor in "xsettings" --> "Gtk", then select "IconSizes", click on the "Edit property" icon and enter gtk-menu=24,24 or other desired size in "Value :".
