During the pre releases of Xfce 4.8 and obviously also after the final 4.8 release, a number of critical bugs and regressions were reported in various places. Most of the time the individual developer knows about the problem, but not the entire team, so therefore we've started a wiki package with the *big* problems in 4.8. Hopefully this will speed things up a bit and it gives users a good idea what we're working on.

If you found a critical issue, please report a bug at bugzilla.xfce.org and if the issue is a blocker (regression after 4.6, broken plugins, not working with new libraries (thunarx-2 and exo-1) data loss and segfaults), feel free to leave the bug url in this topic, so I can update the list.

I reported a bug against thunar-volman concerning inability to see and mount / unmount removable drives and media on remote systems.

Not really a biggie, but sort of inconvenient for me in my present work environment.

It's a big problem for novice users.
And it's by far the most frequent xfce bug as I can see in help section of different forums. It's very easy to recover from it but, for users who don't know the xfwm4 magic command, it's seen as a catastrophe.

I have noticed a bug in 4.8 ( although it may have already been reported, new user here )
It may have been caught in 4.10
It concerns the windowing system. For example, if I open the Applications/System/Network Tools ( just to pick one )
and I adjust the window ( by clicking in the lower right hand corner ) and move the
window in a 45 degrees direction, then when I go back and click into the
main area of the window, my curser changes to the "grab hand" icon and my mouse
position is changed to the upper left outside of the window, about 2 or 3 inches.
This only happens after I adjust the window size.
Also, the pick "hot spot" in the lower right hand corner seems to be to small, it
is very difficult to grab for 45 degree movement sometimes.
I noticed this "hot spot" issue on 10.10 sometime back in Nov 2010
( with Gnome2 ) but it was fixed after a little bit.
I am running 12.04 64 bit with 4.8, screen resolution is 1280 x 720

xfce4-notifyd is not run if gnome is installed, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … bug/984230
(note the answer from upstream XFCE developer "you need to remove notify-osd" is not desirable on a multi-user system; it should be possible to have gnome and xfce installed at the same time with both being functional)
