Trouble with Elegant Revisited in xfce4.8

I tried installing Elegant Revisited (gtk2) and Elegant Brit (xfwm4) for my new xfce4.8 desktop but the panel looks like this, for some odd reason. I placed both the Elegant Brit and Revisited in the ~/.themes folder as told on the wiki and I have seen others run xfce with the Elegant themeswithout trouble. Is there any way I can fix this?

Here's how it looks.

Xfce version is 4.8 freshly installed with apt.

Distro is Ubuntu 12.04.
