Hello,
I have a small problem. I am using Xfce for quite a long time, using Funtoo.
It just updated to 4.10pre.
On my upper board, I have a notification area, as well as clock plugin.
These used to be on the right part of the board. It is now somewhere in the middle,
and I am unable to move them to the right side, where I would like them to be.
Is there anything in particular that I should do ?
Don't hesitate if more infos are needed.
Sorry if this has been already discussed in the forum, but I didn't find it.
Thanks for your help.

Maybe the panel thinks the monitor's at a different resolution?
(not that I have any reason to think that, new Xfce user)

Hi oodavid,
Well, I didn't change anything on my resolution; I just made an update of previous xfce version.
Thanks for the try anyway.
My question is more : is there a file to edit in order to say "new plugins had to be on the right/left/center" ?
Or maybe, do I have to erase a .conf file from the previous version ? Sound strange that I can't move
anything to the right side; everything wants to stay on the left !

just updated and i'm having the same problem! my notification, clock and sound are jumping around in my panel based on the number of windows. is this a bug or made by design?
the solution i've found so far is:
create a seperator between window buttons and the rest. set it to expand and it will fill the space.

Hi rugar,
Thanks a lot for this tip. Sound crappy, but it works in fact. I put the separator "transparent", and
everything looks like before.
A solved problem ... (at least for me).

@rugar
Excellent tks. That was doing my head in
I put 2 new Separator items, one each side of my Window Buttons, then set the separators to 'expand' and now the Window Buttons area stays a fixed size and nothing else moves. Phew!

I think we've bumped into a "feature, not bug" because of this: "The window buttons plugin no longer expands, which makes the plugin positioning more flexible. In order to restore the previous behavior please add a transparent separator plugin with the Expand option enabled just behind the window buttons plugin." from http://xfce.org/about/tour under Windows buttons.

Not to worry. I'm sure I'll have my fair share of them as well
Happy Tweaking!
