Right click menu once instead of twice

Context menus inside windows can be opened by right clicking inside the window. However if I want to open another menu at a different position, I have to right click once which closes the menu, then right click again to open another menu.
Is it possible to reduce this to a single right click to close the previous menu and open another menu at a different position? This helps greatly when using firebug to inspect elements in firefox (I've tried this and the behavior is the same in firefox and in the default file manager).

Thanks!

I'm wondering if this is a gtk issue? Does anyone think otherwise?
