Hello,
I use the fuse file system on several devices type ( gphotofs, sshfs, etc ... ) and sometimes this device got an entry in fstab.
For this devices, it appears in thunar on the left panel ( devices and bookmarks ), and i can mount it and use it without problem.
But i have to use a terminal to unmount this devices, with the command :
fusermount -u /path/to/mountpoint
Right clic on the device in thunar, then "Unmount the device" ( or similar ) just cause an error "mount disagree with fstab" ( or similar ).
I think thunar always use the command "umount", which can not be used for fuse devices.
An other idea was a custom action, but i can not use it for the left panel.
Is there a way to force to use fusermount for many devices ? With a udev rule ?
I tried to search for a solution with debian sid + xfce 4.10.1 + thunar 1.6.3-1 or Xubuntu 14.04.
Please let me know if there's a way to solve it.
Regards
Arnaud

Confirmed. Probably best to create a bug report for this issue.
As a workaround, you could create a Thunar custom action and attach it to the directory to have it unmount. Unfortunately, you have to right-click the directory itself for the custom action to work, and not the left pane Devices icon.

I still don't know much about linux, lol, but I know how to type "make umount work with fusefs" into an Internet search box and cut & paste the very first result. Glad it works (I wasn't sure it would; the web page appeared to be several years old and I'd have had no way of testing the procedure with this old cell phone even if I knew what fusefs and umount were other than in the most vague sense).
BtW, why does linux spell "unmount" without the n?

Don't know for sure. I've heard everything from "its a bug" to someone somewhere thinking it was a good idea at the time. Who knows.

Many thanks, it works on Debian Sid + Xfce too.
I've searched for a long time, apparently with the wrong keywords.
I wrote a bug report about it : https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11089

Didn't work for me.
Not only that, but after following the above tutorial, Thunar doesn't even show the "eject" button next to the mount (and right click>unmount) does nothing.

It's called unmount everywhere. The name of the binary does not necesarilly match the name of the verb (eg: we say "make directory", but the command is "mkdir").
