Miniatures in panel
Is this possible to display miniatures instead of icons of applications in the panel. It could be useful for identifying quickly the applications.

What exactly do you mean by "miniatures"? Small representations of the window content like when you press alt+tab?

Its not currently possible with xfce4-panel and the window buttons plugin. DockbarX is capable of displaying window previews, but it doesn't currently work with xfwm (Xfce's window manager). More information here. Existing enhancement request here.
