lirc: script won't start

Hello!

I know, I have seen this problem solved somewhere but I can't find it anymore. Hopefully somone here can help me.

I have a remote control and this in my config file for the powerbutton:
# power button
begin
prog = irexec
button = Power
repeat = 4
config = /usr/local/bin/mythpowerbutton.sh
end

This has worked under Breezy with gnome but now with Xubuntu Dapper nothing happens. The script itself runs when I click on it in thunar and also if I run it from a terminal. The remote itself works too, I can use it inside mythtv without problems.

Now if I type irexec in a terminal and then press the power button, it works!
What does that tell me?
Anybody have an idea what the problem could be?

What should happen?

If you need to start irexec when you start xfce you can start it by linking it in ~/Desktop/Autostart on 4.2, if you are using 4.4beta/svn then run xfce4-autostart and click add.

Re: lirc: script won't start

Now I feel stupid.

Of course putting it in Autostart works! Why did it work on Gnome? Because irexec was autostarted! Silly me.

Thanks!
