Which program is responsible for minimizing to tray on XFCE4?
I've recent installation XFCE4 on two different computer (xfce4 is the only desktop env.) both running Gentoo.
I' m running some java Hylafax front end (YajHFC) on one system the program minimizes to tray as programed in options; on my other system "minimize to tray" doesn't work.
The application is responsible for creating a tray icon and minimising it. If it's not working on one machine, either the application's preferences need to be configured, or you need to add the, "Notification Area", plugin to your panel.
... you need to add the, "Notification Area", plugin to your panel.
"Notification Area" is up and running on both systems, identical settings.
The program has all options checked:
- Show tray icon
- Minimize to tray
- Minimaze to tray when main window is closed.
What other application I can run to check/verify if minimized to tray work?
I check Gentoo doc: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/java.xml
so checking my setting revealed, that different java was active on both machines.
java-config --list-available-vms The following VMs are available for generation-2: *1) IcedTea6-bin 1.6.2 [icedtea6-bin] 2) Sun JDK 220.127.116.11 [sun-jdk-1.6]
setting it to sun-jdk solved the problem.
