two rows in panel

How can I achieve this effect:

I think that separator must be used but I didn't succeeded. I don't know how to force it to be in a first line and the rest on the second line.

Try creating two different panels - one directly below the other. Each one will be a single row. Populate them as desired.

Similarly, is there a way to force double rows in systray? At the moment I have to drop icon size to 18 on my test machine before it switches, and I would like the 2 rows to hold constant no matter what the display parameters (icons or screen) if possible.

I see nothing in the relevant section of xfce4-panel.xml, and don't know where else to look.


MX-23 (based on Debian Stable) with our flagship Xfce 4.18.

Other than the way you mention, no. There is a wish list item to bring back the row option.

Thanks. That wish list item looks to be multiple years old so I am not going to hold my breath...
